Jane's Story

Jane Armstrong, an active mother of three, had suffered from joint disease in her right knee. The pain eventually landed her on crutches and the highest level of pain medication allowed. In 1999, Jane underwent knee replacement surgery. After physical therapy and rehabilitation, Jane decided on bicycling as a way to get around and become physically active again.

Once on the bike, she began to participate in Australian competitive cycling. Jane quickly moved up the elite-level cycling ranks. Find out how Jane's journey led her to become the oldest member of the Australian cycling team competing in the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games.
